It was designed by Dematic to provide sorting support for multiple applications, including sort-to-pallet build, shipping doors, shipping containers and workstations. Built around pre-engineered and preconfigured modules, the system fits into new and existing buildings, and was designed to support carton, case and tote-handling environments. Positive sortation assures that the correct container is directed to the correct location and in the proper sequence, the company said. Most commonly deployed for final disposition in the shipping area, the sort sub-system can be configured for other applications as well, such as routing-to-pick modules, value-added processing, quality assurance and packing stations.
