Each year, 1.3 billion tons of food are lost or go to waste — and a third of those losses occur in transit.
The situation is especially unconscionable during the pandemic, when shortages of essential goods are rampant. And to a great extent, inefficient supply chains are to blame. So what to do? On this episode, we talk solutions with Chris Wolfe, chief executive officer with PowerFleet. He explains why so much food is going to waste, and where in the supply chain it’s happening. And he discusses ways in which technology — especially the long-awaited coming of 5G connectivity — might hold some answers to a chronic and often tragic state of affairs. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
