IAG Cargo has announced plans to restart business in China after an almost two-year hiatus. London-based IAG, a division of International Airlines Group, said April 6, it will once again provide shipping and transportation services from London Heathrow to Beijing and Shanghai.

Starting April 23, IAG customers will be able to transport goods between Heathrow Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport daily. The services between Heathrow and Beijing Daxing Airport will resume June 3, with four flights each week.

The Heathrow-Beijing route will be operated by British Airways using B777-200 aircraft, while the Shanghai operations will be served by British Airways’ B787-9 planes.

IAG Cargo was created following a merger between British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo in 2011. From January 2020 to the Summer of 2021, the company reported 700 charter flights and 160 cargo-only flights between London Heathrow and China.
